Women's football is for players of every age, and many of our members are young. We've built WFN so that younger members get stronger protections automatically — and so everyone has the tools to stay in control.
Age-appropriate by design
We ask for your date of birth when you join so we can give younger members the right protections automatically. Under-13s can only join with a parent or guardian's permission.
Private by default for under-18s
If you're under 18, your profile starts as members-only, your location and social links are hidden, and you're never added to marketing or non-essential tracking.
Protected messaging
Adults can't message under-18s out of the blue — a younger member has to reach out first. You can block anyone, and blocked members can't contact you or see you in messages.
Easy reporting
Every profile and conversation has a Report option. Reports go straight to our safeguarding team, and anything involving a child is treated as urgent.
You control your visibility
From your profile settings you decide who can see you (public, members-only or private), who can message you, and what contact details are shown.
A trained safeguarding team
A dedicated team reviews reports with least-privilege access to sensitive information, takes protective action, and escalates to the authorities when needed.
Reporting something
If someone is making you uncomfortable, use the Report option on their profile or in your conversation. Tell us what happened — reports are confidential and reviewed by our safeguarding team. You can also block anyone from your profile settings.
